Have you ever visited The Chittenden Locks in Seattle?
The Chittenden locks or Ballard Locks carry more boat traffic than any other lock in the US.
What is a lock?
A lock is a device used for raising and lowering boats between stretches of water of different levels on river and waterways.
The Chittenden locks attract more than 1 million visitors each year. It is so amazing to watch the changing of the water levels. It is so cool to see how quickly they can raise and lower the water level in each lock. There is also a viewing area for the local sea life as well as beautiful gardens. Before visiting I never knew anything about water locks, so this was definitely a fun learning experience.
